The round cylindrical shaped teapot is made with the bamboo theme
mid 19 century
45 inches high
rendered in the traditional gong bi manner of figure painting
This is a fine example of a CURIO where the wood carver carved two lotus pods with movable seeds and interlocking rings from a single block of wood
and age is an added bonus
it became one of my favorite classes at the University of Chicago
