2022 Mary Taylor Anjou Rouge, Loire Valley, France
Description
2022 Mary Taylor Anjou Rouge, Loire Valley, FranceABOUT THIS WINE 80% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. 25 year old vines rooted in slate and limestone soil. Aged in stainless steel. This extremely conscientious farm in the Coteaux de LAubance within the Anjou Villages is run by a winemaking family, known by Biotteau. This is the fourth generation of Biotteau to make wine here. Today the family is hypersensitive to respecting the land and the winery is HVE level 3 certified. ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Emboldened by their years of combined experience and family history of winemaking
To avoid oxidation
they produce a stunning lineup of 100% Cabernet Franc wines: a basic Chinon of great purity and balance
One of our favourite producers
The wines are lightly filtered with diatomaceous earth
Dosage of sugar: 10g/l
and glass demijohns tucked here and there—proving yet again that it takes the barest minimum to produce a wine of character and truth
Eric Germain continues to uphold the style of the wines
The acidity remains vibrant
Instead of Riesling
mineral-laden whites loosely based on the coastal wines of Friuli
resulting in a wine that speaks deeply of its origins
