Vivianite on matrixA nearly doubly termianted, undamaged, very sharp, lustrous, beautiful green colored Vivianite crystal is gracefully set between contrasting reddish argillaceous sandstone matrix to create what is one of the most aesthetic miniatures that we've had to offer from this locality. Matrix specimens are rare from Tomokoni, and to have such an eye catching display specimen like this is incredibly difficult to find. Specimen #VIVBOL81812

but the second reason is the apparent quality

This Aquamarine specimen was mined by Richard Kosnar in the late 1970's and his diggings produced some of the finest color

It has been next to impossible to obtain fine quality Spinel specimens from Burma these days it seems

which is not common in my experience with these particular pieces
