Description

Nepenthes rajah, Marai ParaiThis enigmatic species is one of the most famous carnivorous plants. Nepenthes rajah grows on the slopes of Mt. Kinabalu and other neighboring mountains within Kinabalu National Park in Sabah, Malaysia on the island of Borneo. The leaves reach huge size and weve observed some to be over 4 feet long. The deep, red pitchers are one of the largest in the genus and have been fabled to eat monkeys and rats. Though its uncertain if the pitchers have evolved

grow in boggy

Nepenthes lowii x jacquelineae (first 4 photos)

It produces spotted pitchers with a unique bronze hue that we've only observed from Papuan ampullaria

These are assorted clones available from Borneo Exotics

Nepenthes truncata x peltata is a stunning cross

It also seems to appreciate higher light levels than most Nepenthes

The wide peristome from platychila is complemented by the rigid shape from veitchii x lowii

hairy leaves it is quite tolerant of humidity and temperature fluctuations

This plant grows best as a lowland or intermediate

This cross has HUGE potential for both its size and peristome

The lower pitchers often darken as they mature
