Stuart of Bute TartanThe Stuart of Bute tartan is associated with the Stuart of Bute Family, a branch of Clan Stewart, and its history tied to along Robert II, who granted lands on Bute to his natural son. The tartan's specific design, a red based pattern, was popularized by the Vestiarium Scoticum in the 1840s, although a less approved maroon ("hunting") version also exists. The current Marquess of Bute (the Clan Chief) has approved a specific shade of the tartan. 100%
