本書では、引退から5年後の2010年、SOHOにあったラングのアトリエで発生した火災から救い出された服とアクセサリーの写真が収録されています。写真は、同ブランドの元デザイナー、ヨアキム・アンドレアソン（Joakim Andreasson）が、焼失から残ったこれらのアーカイブを売却する際に一枚ずつ撮影したもの。1万枚を超えるこれらの写真は、ヘルムート・ラングのデザインの重要かつ比類のないリサーチ資料としての役割を果たしています。尚、ラングはこれらの焼失をきっかけに、焼け残ったアーカイブを分解し作品へとつくりかえた展覧会「Make It Hard」を制作しています。
